Product description
Organic shiitake mushrooms otherwise known as Japanese sclerites are grown on the dead logs of deciduous trees. They are increasingly popular due to their valuable nutritional properties. They are especially valued in Eastern cuisine. We recommend that shiitake mushrooms undergo a short heat treatment (about 5 minutes), otherwise they harden. Depending on the use (e.g. for sauces), it is advisable to soak them for about 30 minutes before use
