Hojicha is a unique Japanese green tea with a distinct flavor profile that sets it apart from other green teas. It is made from autumn-harvested leaves, which are roasted at high temperatures, imparting a dark brown color and a smoky aroma with sweet, caramel-nutty notes. The roasting process significantly reduces caffeine content, making Hojicha suitable for drinking before bed, and safe for children and pregnant women. The tradition of roasting green tea originated in Kyoto in the 1920s, and since then, Hojicha has gained worldwide popularity.
It is known to support the regulation of cholesterol and sugar levels in the body, and also contributes to immune system support. In Japan, Hojicha is frequently served with meals, much like genmaicha. It can be steeped multiple times. Moya Hojicha originates from small, family-run, organic farms on the southern island of Kyushu. Its production and certification take place in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, where it undergoes rigorous testing.

Tea quantity: 2-3 g per 250 ml. Brewing time: 1-3 min. Brewing temperature: 75-90°C.
