Organic matcha from the second and third harvest. It features a robust aroma with a distinct bitterness and a brighter green hue. It is recommended for matcha lattes, smoothies, and as an exquisite addition to ice cream or baked goods.
Usage
To prepare, place a teaspoon of matcha tea in a traditional chawan (matcha bowl), add a small amount of warm water, and whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk until the matcha dissolves completely and a characteristic thick foam appears on the surface. Then, slowly add more water to reach a serving of approximately 200 ml. The traditional bamboo chasen (matcha whisk) is ideally suited for this whisking process. Matcha can also be prepared using a handheld milk frother, and a standard glass or mug can substitute the traditional bowl. The water temperature should be around 80°C. You can achieve this by using a kettle with a temperature gauge or by letting boiling water stand for 10 minutes after heating. Avoid pouring boiling water over matcha, as this can diminish its valuable nutritional properties.
