Coconut oil is extracted from the hard flesh of the coconut. It is unrefined, i.e. cold-pressed. It has applications both in gastronomy and cosmetics. It is suitable for frying and baking, replaces margarine in cooking, and additionally gives dishes a delicate coconut flavor. In cosmetics, it works well as a cream and hair conditioner.
